Find Your Core to Improve Your Performance and Happiness, Says Dov Baron on The Actuation Zone Radio Show

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) September 20, 2011

Brett Clay, author of 'Selling Change, 101+ Secrets for Growing Sales By Leading Change,' interviewed performance coach, author, speaker, and trainer Dov Baron, creator of the C.O.R.E Affluence System, and president of Baron Mastery Institute on The Actuation Zone Radio Show.

Baron says people must take two critical actions to be truly effective and happy. First, they must find their inner ?core? that truly gives them happiness and fulfillment. Second, they must let go of their fears. The motivation and happiness people feel when they move toward their core extinguishes their fears and releases their true potential for high performance.

People often look for external factors to derive motivation and satisfaction. But, says Baron, "True wealth and abundance come from the inside out." Only by first looking internally and finding their core, can people then obtain prosperity and happiness on the outside.

Baron, who teaches a seminar called "Claim Your Competitive Edge," also discusses current economic and employment trends in the interview. He says people must stop "clutching the dinosaur," that is, the hope that their old jobs and skills will one day become valuable, again. People must accept that the economic landscape has changed permanently and he remains optimistic that if people develop new skills, they will be able to compete and create value in the economy.

Baron also reveals his "three C's" people must follow if they are to do business in the new economy. He says the assumptions and rules that make businesses successful have changed and that listeners need to let go of the old assumptions and embrace the new.

Avoid the Scarcity Mindset to Survive in Difficult Times, Says Mary Kelly, PhD on The Actuation Zone? Radio Show, Hosted by Change Leadership Author, Brett Clay

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) October 05, 2011

Change leadership expert, Brett Clay, author of 'Selling Change, 101+ Secrets for Growing Sales By Leading Change,' interviewed Mary Kelly, PhD, on The Actuation Zone? Radio Show on October 4th, 2011.

Mary Kelly is the author of 'Mastering Your World, 15 Dog-Inspired Leadership Lessons to Improve Productivity, Profits, and Communication,' recently named best leadership book of 2011 by Global eBook Awards. Kelly, who is a retired commander in the U.S. Navy, taught economics and management at the U.S. Naval Academy for 21 years. She also trains dogs and horses and is currently the coach and officer in charge of the equestrian team at the U.S. Air Force Academy.

In this interview, Kelly discusses the dog-inspired leadership lessons from her award-winning book and explains the similarities between training dogs, Naval cadets, and employees. She says one of the most important principles is to focus on and reward desired behaviors, rather than undesired behaviors. That means managers must have the self-discipline to set clear expectations and provide frequent feedback. Managers must also be highly disciplined in immediately putting a stop to negative behaviors on their team. She says allowing negative behavior to continue effectively endorses them and thereby disrupts the morale and effectiveness of the team.

Kelly also discusses her views on the current economic situation. She says, "we're going to stay in a bad place economically, I think, for quite a while. It's going to take some years to get us out of this hole we've gotten into." The danger, she says, is that company owners and managers can become consumed by a scarcity mindset and become fear-driven. Once a company's managers are fear-driven, the company loses its competitiveness and begins a downward spiral. To avoid the scarcity mindset, Kelly says managers must stop focusing on what is going wrong and start focusing on what is going right. Most importantly, companies should examine the way they interact with and serve their most valuable customers, she says.

One of the most important topics Kelly discusses is how to improve productivity. Worker productivity has been cited by economists as the the fundamental driver of economic growth in the U.S. over the last 150 years. In the interview, Kelly reveals two tips for improving a company's productivity that can be immediately implemented.

Companies Must Reinvent Management to Stay Competitive, Says Julian Birkinshaw, PhD, on The Actuation Zone? Radio Show, Hosted by Change Leadership Author, Brett Clay

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) October 14, 2011

Change leadership expert, Brett Clay, author of 'Selling Change, 101+ Secrets for Growing Sales By Leading Change,' interviewed Julian Birkinshaw, PhD, professor of strategy and entrepreneurship at the London Business School, on The Actuation Zone? Radio Show.

The interview may be heard live at 8am Pacific time, Friday, October 14, 2011 on KRWM 106.9FM HD3 in Seattle, WA or online at ctrhotspot.com. It can also be accessed on-demand at http://actuationzone.com.

Professor Birkinshaw is the author of 'Reiventing Management, Smarter Choices for Getting Work Done' and is the co-founder, along with bestselling author Gary Hamel, of the Management Innovation Lab (MLab), a unique partnership between academia and business that is seeking to accelerate the evolution of management techniques and structures.

In the interview, Birkinshaw discusses the observations and research that have led him to conclude that most companies must reinvent their management systems to remain competitive in today's markets. He notes that the management principles commonly employed by companies date back to the Industrial Revolution. In that era standardized rules and procedures enabled companies to scale manufacturing and optimize for efficiency.

However, in the 21st century, improved communication technologies and access to a global supply of resources have not only increased the number of competitors, but have also increased the speed at which competitors move in the market. Therefore, the rules of competition have now changed from efficiency to agility. Companies now must optimize their systems for innovation and agility to remain competitive.

Birkinshaw says the choices a company makes about "how it gets work done" can be thought of as a "management model", similar to the choices a company makes about how to generate profits are thought of as a "business model". He says there are two dimensions on which to make these choices:

1) Decision-making, which ranges from "hierarchical, top-down", at one end of the spectrum, to "collective wisdom" at the other end.

2) Behavior, which ranges from bureaucratic, that is "standardized," at one end of the spectrum, to emergent, that is "self-determined," at the other end.

The tendency is to think of these choices in "either-or" contrast. However, says Birkinshaw, the smartest choices are usually "both-and," and may often be counter-intuitive. The key is to look openly at which functions would benefit from less standardization. He cites examples of companies that are de-standardizing their budgeting, expense, and performance review procedures--processes that are often the most tightly controlled and standardized.

The interview also covers future trends in management, analysis of Charles Handy's Age of Unreason predictions, and other pertinent management topics, such as current trends in M.B.A. degree programs. It concludes with Professor Birkinshaw's recommendations for three changes managers should be making, today, to improve in their businesses and careers.

Most recent episodes showcased a video game producer and two comedic jugglers.

Episodes are highly entertaining and do the best to capture a "day in the life" of the person's career. In the upcoming episode, members of Leaf Brands? will meet with candy distributors, packaging manufacturers, and attend gifting suites and Hollywood events to promote the company?s products, which include Astro Pops?, Farts candy?, and David?s Signature Beyond Gourmet? Jelly Beans.

The premise of the show is to showcase the team behind Leaf Brands, LLC in their day-to-day quest to rebuild their family candy company which was one of the most notable candy companies in the US, until it was sold to Hershey back in 1996. The original Leaf Brands, made well-known candy as Whoppers? and Jolly Rancher? at the time of the sale.

?I love that ?Career Day? showcases all kinds of people and careers. It shows kids if you have drive and ambition, you can make your business dreams come true,? says Leaf Brands CEO Ellia Kassoff. Part of the team includes David Klein who is the original inventor of Jelly Belly? jelly beans, and is launching David?s Signature Beyond Gourmet Jelly Beans? with Leaf Brands, LLC. ?We really believe in Career Day?s mantra that ?it?s never too early or too late to follow your dreams,? Kassoff added.

Klein?s recently released award-winning documentary about his life, ?Candyman: The David Klein Story,? has garnered a lot of attention. Press about his new ?Beyond Gourmet? signature line of jelly beans, which he is creating with Leaf Brands, LLC has gone worldwide including the front page of The Los Angeles Times, titled: ?Jelly Belly creator sour over lost legacy but sees sweet future,? as well as the Seattle Times, Huffington Post, New York Daily News, KFI News Radio (30 Minute segment during morning drive time) and Time Magazine on-line.

Bridgewater, NJ (PRWEB) June 15, 2006

For Manfrotto, NAB 2006 was a huge success, and is proud to announce that the revolutionary 560B Fluid Monopod came out on top as ?Best of Show,? winning Videography Magazine?s 2006 Vidy Award. Winners were selected by the editors of Videography, published by CMP Entertainment Media's Video Group

"Our editors searched the NAB show floor for products that were truly innovative and that will enhance workflow for our readers," states Doug Krainman, publisher of CMP Entertainment Media's Video Group. "The winners of these awards have shown a deep understanding of their users? needs and have created products that will make video professionals' jobs easier and projects better. They deserve the recognition that these awards bestow on them."

Manfrotto, the world?s leading manufacturer of photographic and video support products, reshaped the landscape of the video industry with the introduction of the world?s first monopod with fluid cartridges. The 560B Fluid Monopod brings portability and quality video together with its lightweight, stable and fluid design, allowing for smooth panning and image capture in any environment. Designed for compact mini DV and HDV cameras, the 560B Fluid Video Monopod is highly portable and offers fold up stainless steel feet for additional stability on uneven ground.

With the 560B Fluid Video Monopod, Manfrotto allows videographers to produce smooth images even in tight spaces or environments where a tripod may not be allowed, such as sports stadiums, public parks and museums. The 560B Fluid Monopod provides the stability and quality of a traditional stabilizing device with a fluid head that delivers superior images.
