WSI Launches Fusion 4.0 with Enhanced Convective and Flight Planning Capabilities

Andover, MA (PRWEB) October 10, 2011

WSI (Weather Services International), the most trusted name in aviation decision support, today announced WSI Fusion 4.0. This newest Fusion version adds comprehensive meteorological content, advanced operational efficiencies and other optional features to the Fusion solution, a proactive, advanced and comprehensive workflow-based aviation decision support tool.

Corporate Flight Management (CFM), with 35 aircraft based in five different states and a central dispatch office located in Tennessee, hailed the solution for flight planning.

?After evaluating several different processes and software packages, Corporate Flight Management has deployed WSI Fusion as its flight tracking and weather planning management tool. Fusion allows us to make well-informed decisions and optimize our flight routing,? said Leon G. Custers, Chief Operating Officer for CFM. ?We selected WSI Fusion because of the constant, end-user-driven enhancements that WSI makes for the product. We believe that WSI Fusion will allow us to provide better service to our customers, while simultaneously reducing operational expenses.?

Learn more about Fusion 4.0 at the WSI?s Booth # C9213 and speak to Leon G. Custers, Chief Operating Officer for CFM, Monday, October 10, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the NBAA 2011 in Las Vegas, October 10-12.

Incorporating user feedback, Fusion 4.0 provides new, easy-to-understand, highly accurate and visually pleasing graphical presentations of weather events and conditions including:

????High Definition (HD) Convective Weather Layers - including enhanced Radar, Vertically Integrated Liquid (VIL) and EchoTop mosaics. Most notably, the new EchoTop mosaic offers a four- fold improvement in spatial resolution that clearly shows the highest tops of greatest concern, improving confidence in route planning and decision-making.

????North American Radar Mosaic ? providing a comprehensive view of radar returns from Canada through the Caribbean. With a single click, a dispatcher can look at a consistent radar picture across North America without having the need to overlay multiple radar types.

????Hot Storm Index ? a WSI exclusive, deriving the potential impact of severe weather events including: hail, wind and tornadic signatures from raw NEXrad radar data. Detailed information is provided including historical trending of individual storm cells, allowing for a more detailed analysis of storm cell movement, growth and decay.

Fusion 4.0 also incorporates new operational efficiencies. These include:

????Active SUAs (Special Use Airspace) - indicating which US Special Use Airspace regions are currently in use or reserved for the operational day, ultimately providing dispatchers and air traffic coordinators with the necessary information to optimize flight plan routes.

????Expansion of Enterprise and Flight Planning Interfaces, including ETOPS Alerting ? integrating customer data from external sources to enable optimal flight routing choices. This allows for a seamless process for the dispatcher to interact with Fusion in the flight-planning and flight-following workflows, simultaneously.

In addition, Fusion 4.0 offers additional, required-to-operate features including:

????Ozone Forecasting ? forecasting ozone levels at various altitudes and providing a clear interpretation and depiction of restrictions in accordance with FAA operational regulation limits set forth in FAR 121.578.

????Solar Activity Forecasting ? conveying aviation impacts on radio communication, solar radiation and navigational effects based on solar events.

????Runway Visual Range (RVR) - providing real-time updates of runway visibility values necessary in instrument flight rule operations.

????Regulatory High Level Significant Weather Layers (HighSig) - displaying ICAO-mandated forecast weather conditions such as depiction of jet cores traditionally used in the flight planning process.

????Polar Projection ? projecting flight position, routes and weather content in a perspective relevant for trans-polar operations.

????Updated Web Based Training portal ? an online training site including all of WSI?s newest Fusion features. The training portal provides new users, as well as those customers upgrading to new versions, a complete set of self-service training modules to leverage the powerful features within WSI Fusion.

?Since the initial launch of WSI Fusion in 2007, we have continued to evolve advanced, yet easy-to-use tools to meet our growing customer base and its needs ? said John Szatkowski, WSI Senior Product Manager for Commercial Aviation. ? As the next-generation aviation workspace becomes more complex, Fusion 4.0 offers compelling visualizations that are unrivaled in the marketplace. The increased depth and breadth of our new Fusion 4.0 weather tools allow decision makers to gain a more accurate perspective of convective movements, including growth and decay of weather events.?

WSI Fusion

WSI Fusion enables proactive operations management by providing early insight into changing flight, airfield and airspace conditions while streamlining the decision-making workflow. The solution combines global, public and proprietary weather information, airspace constraints, flight track information and navigation data, including NOTAMs, into a unified, clear operational picture, taking the guesswork out of situational decisions. Airlines benefit through improved operational efficiencies and safety, especially during potentially disruptive weather events.

Manfrotto Launches New Portal Website Focused On Data Management and Integration

Bassano del Grappa, Italia (PRWEB) September 28, 2005

Manfrotto, the world?s leading manufacturer of support products for pro video and photography, is proud to announce that it has launched the first phase of its new portal website at http://www.manfrotto.com. A natural evolution of the company?s previous website, the new portal features many similarities in appearance; however, content and data integration amongst various business units has been enhanced, reflecting much more accurately the way Manfrotto operates.

For the first time, R&D, customer service, sales and marketing ? all coordinated by the Bogen Imaging distribution arm ? will use the same data. Proper processes have been incorporated throughout the new website to ensure that information is integral and unique throughout the various applications that the group uses, and that it is properly managed by those responsible for each part of its creation and maintenance. The aim is to gradually eliminate the incongruence and inaccuracy that naturally creep into systems where data is replicated in several different places. As a result, Manfrotto will provide better service to distribution partners and end users alike.

In terms of content, the Product section of the website has been updated to cover the range of the 1,000+ products currently available from Manfrotto. This is made possible by the portal's seamless integration with the company's ERP, which has been restructured to include much more in-depth product information, specs, features and suggestions for use including a series of "How To" lessons and pointers on how to get the most from support equipment in real life situations. In addition, presentation and categorization of products is gradually being aligned between the web, catalogues and marketing for better consistency.

The Spare Parts section of the new website opens up access to all visitors as part of Manfrotto's commitment to providing outstanding after-sales service. Adding value to this service is the extended Warranty offers introduced on most popular products, whereby Manfrotto owners can register their new product on the website to receive an extra three years of warranty coverage above and beyond what is statutory by purchase.

Other sections added to the site include the Careers pages, reflecting the company's growth and investment in its human resources.

The portal is launched in English and Italian. Additional languages will include Spanish, German, French and Chinese, which are already underway and will be released in coming months.

Wordans.com Launches New Service This Week Providing the Largest Format Custom Posters and Prints Available Online

Montreal, Quebec, Canada (PRWEB) September 19, 2011

Online custom apparel retailer Wordans.com launched a new line of large format printed products this week. The line is aimed at consumers looking to customize the decor of their homes and offices, and businesses requiring signage for marketing and trade show purposes. The products include custom-made full color posters ranging in size from 8?x8? to 40?x120?, peel and stick wall coverings and canvas prints.

The launch marks the first time an online retailer has made prints of this size available to the public. Visitors to the website simply choose the size and type of print, then upload an image file. Formatting and correction work is done by Wordans' technical staff. The company claims a 48 hour turnaround on the prints.

?We analyzed the current online offerings in this space and found that most retailers weren't providing consumers with prints larger than 80? or so. Some claim to offer larger sizes, but only as special order items,? says Eric Gautier, the company's founder and president. Large format printing is a growing sector both for business and personal use. A recent study conducted by Infotrends and Wide Format Imaging showed that large format printers are doing more and more of their business directly with consumers. Based on the results of the study, this B2C activity currently accounts for 15% of the overall revenues for large format printers.

?We foresee steady growth in this market, especially at the consumer level.? Gautier's sentiments are based on trends in both the printing industry and digital photography equipment. According to the Camera and Imaging Products Association, the total number of digital cameras shipped in July 2011 was over 10 million units, up from 8.7 million units in July 2010. With it's new entry into the print market, Wordans seems well placed to take advantage of these movements.

The Montreal based company was established in 2009 by Gautier in an effort to bring professional commercial printing facilities into the hands of the public at large. ?My goal with Wordans.com is to allow people to further express their individuality by providing everyone with a simple, inexpensive way to create custom apparel, accessories and d?cor,? said Eric Gautier from his base of operations in the Mile-End district of Montreal.

The company functions based on this vision, making Wordans.com an ?outlet for individual creativity.? Be it a logo or picture on a custom t-shirt, a name on a laptop, iPad or iPhone skin , or a large poster print of a favorite holiday photo, Gautier's team have built both the IT infrastructure and production facilities to be able to provide their products efficiently to online shoppers.

?Wordans has essentially made the customization of your environment, electronic devices and clothing easier than ever before,? said Gautier. ?For the ambitious, we have built a system which for example allows a t-shirt designer to operate a shop without ever having to worry about keeping an inventory or any customer service requests...not to mention rent.?

Wordans built its reputation by supplying large custom t-shirt orders to major Canadian companies and brands, including Electronic Arts Canada, Cirque du Soleil and Ubisoft to name a few. The company is constantly adding new customizable products to their line, which currently includes the aforementioned t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts and iPhone and iPad skins.

Eric Gautier's quick tips for the online shopper:

?Keep a measuring tape close at hand, especially when ordering larger items such as custom prints online. This will save you from any disappointing surprises when the products arrive.?

?Many of your friends and colleagues may have the same model of phone or laptop as you do. Employers often issue the same devices to their staff. Custom skins for your laptop, iPad or iPhone make it easy for you to identify and retrieve your device in public situations. Pick your favorite bright colors for your skin to set your electronic devices apart.?

?When shopping for custom printed clothing online, be sure to pay special attention to the quality of the garment itself. If this information is not available, be sure to ask. We have received a lot of feedback from clients who bought customized t shirts online only to find that they did not last. Whenever possible, opt for quality North American made garments to ensure longevity.?

Customer Dish Launches Free SMS Survey and Marketing Plan

Riverside, CA (PRWEB) July 21, 2011

In the same way analytics has come alongside search engine marketing to enable ad targeting and yield increased marketing ROI and improved user experience, Customer Dish has come alongside text marketing to provide analytics for offline, mobile customers.

With the introduction of a free plan Customer Dish is creating a mutually beneficial onramp process for small and medium sized restaurants and retailers as well as universities, churches, and hotels. The Starter plan includes a monthly allotment of text message credits for all of the Customer Dish modules. Clients will be able to receive customer feedback via the comments engine, conduct custom SMS surveys, build a subscribers list, and send bulk text messages to subscribers. All for free. By allowing this hands-on investigation of the product Customer Dish gives clients confidence they are selecting the right tool for their business. Whether they continue to use the Starter plan or mature their campaigns into one of several paid subscription options, the merchant experiences full transparency and clarity of choice.

With the ever increasing popularity of messaging there is an obvious opportunity for customer facing businesses to engage their audience via text messages. As a result, services have emerged that allow merchants to send bulk SMS messages to lists of subscribers they collect. These tools provide little or no ability for the merchant to segment their subscribers based on demographics or context in order to better target their mobile marketing initiatives and budget. By offering free access to the entire suite of Customer Dish tools merchants are able to see how gaining context about a subscriber feeds into more targeted, effective mobile marketing and messaging.

More specifically, each customer comment, interactive survey, or outbound message response is populated with key demographic data and can be viewed, searched, forwarded, exported, or tagged. Any portion of this context about a customer can be used when segmenting the merchant?s subscriber list to target marketing and news campaigns. For example, on a slow Tuesday a restaurateur could send a last minute appetizer coupon to only those subscribers who have been in during happy hour, within the last month, are in nearby zip codes, and mentioned enjoying the spring rolls. Every bit of this can now be tried and tested for free, by anyone.

ABOUT Customer Dish:

Customer Dish is a SAAS tool that allows merchants to receive a real time view of how their customers are experiencing their brand. The tool is powered by a comment engine, custom surveys, and a mobile marketing module. Whether shopping for a new pair of shoes, enjoying lunch with a friend, or entering their hotel room on the first day of their dream vacation, Customer Dish provides a way to instantly know where a merchant is exceeding a customer?s expectations and where improvements can be made. Customers engage the process via text message. Text message is a widely used and comfortable way for customers to quickly comment and provide valuable survey responses. The real-time nature of text messaging also allows the merchant to address any issues promptly so customers always leave happy. Drawing from these customer interactions, the merchant is able to then use the mobile marketing module to send news and promotions directly to carefully segmented groups of loyal customers.

The Vitec Group?s Imaging Division Launches Nine eCommerce-Enabled Sites with Shopatron

San Luis Obispo, CA (Vocus) September 9, 2010

The Vitec Group?s Imaging Division has launched eight regional and a global website for its Manfrotto brand. Manfrotto is the worldwide leader in manufacturing camera and lighting supports for the photographic, motion picture, broadcast and entertainment industries.

The Vitec Group?s Imaging & Staging Division, headquartered in Italy, has a strong reputation among two main groups of creative professionals: photographers and videographers, whether they are shooting commercially, independently or for pleasure; and live and corporate event production and touring bands, who need versatile trussing and staging sets.

Due to ongoing customer demand, Vitec Group Imaging Division decided to take sales of their brands online, and chose Shopatron as the technology partner for the online marketing and sales initiative, nicknamed ?ePresence.? The initial launch of the Manfrotto brand will include a global website at http://www.manfrotto.com and nine regional sites in the US, UK, Italy, France, Germany, China, Japan and Hong Kong.

Shopatron is responsible for all design, implementation and ongoing operation of the websites. Two of the sites, http://www.manfrotto.us and http://www.manfrotto.co.uk, will offer online sales immediately. Through the Coex Freedom order exchange, the Shopatron system will assign each online order from these websites to a local, authorized retailer with the selected products in stock. The French and German websites will also launch eCommerce this year.

The launch of the Manfrotto brand is just the beginning of the ePresence initiative. The complete project will ultimately launch all Vitec Group Imaging Division manufactured and distributed Brands, encompassing more than 80 websites. The Gitzo brand implementation is scheduled to begin immediately following the launch of Manfrotto.

?This is a huge undertaking for us, and there were a lot of factors to consider when we started to look at outsourcing the project,? said Carlo Alberto Cuman, Web Director of Vitec Group Imaging Division. ?We chose Shopatron for several reasons. Their ability to integrate our retailers into the eCommerce process was a key factor for us. We wanted our website to support our valued partners. Additionally, having all of our sites built with the onBlocks platform gives us the ability to directly manage content. With the significant scope of our project, Shopatron?s experience with multiple languages and currencies was also critical for our decision.?

?It is not every day we get a chance to work on such a significant, coordinated, multi-national implementation,? added Brian Clausen, SVP of eCommerce Strategy at Shopatron. ?An initiative like this uses a majority of the features from our platform, including retail-integration, international capabilities, customer support, fraud management, online marketing and in-store pickup.?

After the launch of Monfrotto and Gitzo, Vitec Group Imaging Division plans to launch the following brands: Kata, National Geographic bags & supports, Avenger, Elinchrom, Lastolite, Litepanels, Genus.
