Best Skins Ever Introduces New Protective Skin Film for Cell Phones & Laptops

Denver, CO (Vocus) May 7, 2010

Best Skins Ever, a leading supplier of protective ?skins? for cell phones, laptops, media players, cameras, and other personal electronic devices, announced the introduction of a new and improved skin material with superior visual qualities and an easier application process.

The evolved skin design addresses many of the problems inherent to other protective cell phone skins and screen covers, which often force users to accept an unsightly rippled, dimpled surface when they cover cell phones and media players with invisible protection.

?We were happy with the original skin film we?ve been using for four years but we have also been sampling new materials from different suppliers with the intent of finding a way to improve our products, both in terms of visual quality and application,? said Michael Herring, president of Best Skins Ever.

The new skin introduced by Best Skins Ever nearly eliminates the ?orange peel effect? resulting in a dramatically improved visual appearance with a smoother, clearer surface. This is especially effective on LCD display screens of personal electronic devices like iPhones, Blackberrys and laptop computers.

Protective skins from Best Skins Ever never interfere with touch screen performance, and the new skin material also features an improved anti-yellowing coating. Unlike other manufactures whose skins begin to turn brown and yellow with age (especially on white and light colored devices), Best Skins Ever eliminated this issue with the evolved skin design. More importantly, the thinner, more advanced adhesive on the new Best Skins Ever material never leaves a fuzzy build up at the edges of the skin no matter the device.

The new skin material also offers improved application features. The new film is more flexible which makes it easier to wrap the skin around the corners of a cell phone or media player, making for an easier application than other products on the market. The new skin film also features improved adhesive, extending the life of your skin and fighting premature peeling. The corners of a device are the most vulnerable, so this improved adhesion offers major benefits to customers.

The combination of great flexibility and unbeatable adhesion create a product that allows Best Skins Ever to design products that offer the maximum amount of protection, especially around corners and complex curves.

Toasted Skin Syndrome; a Quick and Easy Fix That Costs Less Than a Visit to Your Doctor's Office

Rancho Cucamonga, CA (PRWEB) October 7, 2010

LapWorks? Inc., a leading maker of ergonomic laptop desks and accessories, responded today to news articles concerning Toasted Skin Syndrome. According to one article, ?People who work with a laptop on their knees can develop ?Toasted Skin Syndrome?, an unusual-looking mottled skin condition caused by long-term heat exposure.? These articles went on to say that the condition looks like ?a sponge-patterned skin discoloration? and ?in very rare cases, it can cause damage leading to skin cancer.?

The medical term for Toasted Skin Syndrome is ?Erythema Ab Igne,? also known as ?laptop-induced-dermatosis.? These articles quote Drs. Arnold and Itin from University Hospital in Basel, Switzerland: ?to be safe, place a carrying case or other heat shield under the laptop if you have to hold it in your lap.?

LapWorks has long been an advocate of protecting the user from the ?Hot Lap? affect. The company?s line of four lap desk were designed exclusively to prevent hot lap and protect the user. The desks act as a heat shield under the laptop when using the device. Overheating laptop or Notebook computers have been a source of discomfort for their owners for years.

It is now obvious that hot lap isn?t the worst of the potential problems with overheated notebooks. Reports surfaced a few years ago that some notebooks were spontaneously combusting due to overheated batteries. At about the same time, a study by the State University of New York concluded that overheated laptop usage can lead to low sperm count and infertility in young men. If that wasn?t enough, now there is proof positive that using an overheated notebook on the lap repeatedly for extended periods of time can lead to Toasted Skin Syndrome.

Laptop Desks from LapWorks not only prevent dreaded ?toasted skin syndrome? but can also prevent other injuries that are common with extended notebook usage. Persons who squeeze their legs together to support a notebook on their lap or who hunch over a notebook while typing on their lap can develop serious shoulder, neck and back injuries. Proper posture, or ergonomics as it is called, is key to preventing long-term musculoskeletal injury. And a 22? long, lap-spanning laptop desk from LapWorks can be the simplest solution for less than $ 30.00.

Those at greatest risk from injury are:

????Students who typically use poor posture because they are young and feel indestructible
????Mobile Professionals who travel with their notebooks and don?t often have a desk available
????Couch Potatoes with their notebooks on their lap while watching TV
????Video Game players who don?t consider their posture in the heat of battle

Jos? Calero, President of LapWorks and the driving force behind the call to prevent injuries related to notebooks says that they ?routinely cause ergonomic related injuries . . . injuries like Carpel Tunnel Syndrome or Cumulative Trauma Disorders. Ask any back specialist and they will tell you that four in five patients have chronic nerve damage caused by working on a laptop incorrectly.? He goes on to say ?Our Lap Desk products can prevent ergonomic related injuries and they?ve been lab tested to reduce heat build-up in notebooks up to 20%.? He ended with this: ?the problem is getting much worse as ergonomic related injuries are rising at an unprecedented level due to incorrect laptop usage.?

So the bottom line is to protect against overheated notebooks and ergonomic issues, you must become familiar with proper ?notebook posture? and how to improve ergonomics with the use of a Laptop Desk from Lap Works. The Laptop Desks are available at http://www.lapworksinc.com - they retail for $ 29.95 and are also available from http://www.Amazon.com with free shipping.

Winter Skin Care Tips from the Experts at The Peer Group

(PRWEB) November 30, 2011

During the winter, health becomes a huge concern with the increase of germs among flu and cold season. While many people like to focus on taking the proper steps to keep a healthy immune system, the skin, which is the largest organ of our body is often forgotten, and left unprotected. With the cold months quickly approaching it becomes even more difficult to keep your skin comfortable and smooth for that youthful look everyone strives for.

Luckily, nature already provides a surface lipid barrier to keep moisture in, but when the air turns cold, the environment pulls moisture from skin leaving you flaky, dry, and uncomfortable. The Skin care experts at The Peer Group have the right tips to prevent this from happening!

1. Drink plenty of water. It?s the age old advice for many issues, but it really does work! Make it a habit to have a glass of water when you wake, at each meal, and before bed. You can?t keep your skin hydrated if there isn?t any water to begin with. Also, practice moderation with dehydrating beverages like coffee and alcohol.

2. Get rid of dead skin and cellular debris with a gentle exfoliation. You can find a good product for this at local drug and grocery stores, but be sure to avoid rough, granular scrubs for the face and body. For those with thicker, more oily or acne prone skin, a product containing glycolic and salicylic acids is more appropriate.

3. Moisturize! Consistently moisturize and re-hydrate your skin with proper products. Routine application can help keep your skin soft and supple.

????????? Follow a morning cleansing and moisturizing routine that includes products with humectants, which are oil free and absorb moisture from the air.

????????? If skin feels tight, spritz with aerosol spring water followed by a moisturizer.

4. Avoid hot showers. The high temperature can strip moisture from the skin however; a warm soak with oatmeal can allow the skin to soften.

We?d love to be considered for a story about winter skin care tips. Dr. Isaac Starker, a board certified plastic surgeon at The Peer Group and recently honored as a ?Top Doctor? by New Jersey Monthly for the seventh year in a row, can provide his expert knowledge on winter skin care tips.
